As the Ashura season approaches, preparations are intensifying for the launch of the 7th Pulse EMS Season under the theme “In Service”, a volunteer initiative aimed at strengthening emergency preparedness within Hussainiya institutions and providing emergency medical coverage for mourning halls and central processions in collaboration with a number of healthcare, governmental, and community organizations.

Mohamed Alsharqi, First Coordinator of the 7th Pulse EMS Season and member of the Life Pulse Volunteer Team, stated that this year’s season represents a significant step forward both administratively and operationally. He explained that the project focuses on two key objectives: training personnel working within Hussainiya institutions to respond effectively to medical emergencies, and delivering field emergency medical coverage throughout the Ashura season.

Alsharqi revealed that the volunteer recruitment campaign received remarkable public interest, with more than 190 volunteers registering within just 48 hours of opening applications. He noted that this reflects the growing community awareness of the importance of emergency medical volunteering and public service.

He further added that the training programs attracted an equally strong response, with all available training seats filled within only eight hours of the announcement, highlighting the increasing enthusiasm among young people to participate in organized community and emergency response initiatives.

According to Alsharqi, the season is supported by several national organizations and strategic partners. SkyB Medical Equipment has provided medical equipment support and technical consultation, while Al Moulani Logistics Support Services has contributed operational consultation and logistical vehicles to assist field operations.

In addition, Life Pulse Training and Development Center has supplied accredited training curricula, modern educational methodologies, and training equipment. Karbabad Charity Society has provided facilities for volunteer training, while Al Musalla Charity Society has helped establish the operational foundation required for central medical coverage activities.

Alsharqi also expressed his appreciation for the continued support provided by the Jaafari Endowments Administration, emphasizing that such cooperation plays a vital role in ensuring the success of the initiative and achieving its community objectives.

On the medical side, Alsharqi disclosed that emergency medical operations during the season will be supervised by several healthcare institutions, including Royal Bahrain Hospital, KIMS Bahrain Medical Center, Bahrain Specialist Hospital, Al Jazeera Medical Center, and Badr Al Samaa Medical Center.

He explained that these partnerships will contribute significantly to enhancing the quality of emergency medical services and provide professional medical oversight for field teams operating throughout the season.

Furthermore, the organizing committee has completed coordination with both the Capital Governorate and Northern Governorate as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen collaboration and support field operations during the season.

One of the key developments this year, according to Alsharqi, is the implementation of several advanced digital systems designed to automate administrative and operational processes. These technologies are expected to improve accuracy, service quality, operational efficiency, and response times.

He noted that the project has evolved over the years from a traditional volunteer initiative into a more professional system built around data management, governance, operational oversight, and continuous improvement, ultimately enhancing the quality of services delivered to the community.

Concluding his remarks, Alsharqi stressed that the season’s slogan, “In Service,” represents far more than field emergency presence. Rather, it reflects a culture of preparedness, dedication, teamwork, and organized community service. He emphasized that the ultimate mission of the project remains the protection of lives, the promotion of first aid awareness, and the strengthening of community resilience.

The 7th Pulse EMS Season enters this year with unprecedented volunteer engagement, expanded medical and community partnerships, and significant operational advancements, further reinforcing its position as a leading model of professional volunteer emergency medical service within the Kingdom of Bahrain.
